So…with (a) spring in your step, head out and enjoy these fantastic events!

This two-day summit will bring together publishers, sales directors, commercial strategists, innovators and heads of social media to look at the key issues developing in the publishing industry. The focus is very much on evolving publishing models, and how publishers can make the most of new revenue streams.

4 – Digital Innovators’ Summit 2016
20-22 March

This is the premium event for media professionals and digital business leaders from around the world. The programme will explore everything from key themes in content-driven media innovation to how to become a digital powerhouse, and boasts speakers from Google, Financial Times and The Economist.

5 – The Quantum Conference: Publishing & So Much More
11 April
Olympia, West London
This replaces the popular ‘Publishing for Digital Minds’ conference, and promises to deliver a data-driven overview of the global publishing industry and its place in the wider content industries. This event is the ‘launch pad’ for the London Book Fair, and is also part of the 31st International Publishers Congress. The programme covers everything from developing an app publishing strategy to knowing your language markets, and features speakers from Penguin Random House, Ogilvy and Mather and The Guardian.
Tickets range from £300-£399, and can be booked through the Conference website.
6 – London Book Fair 2016
12-14 April
Olympia, West London
This year’s LBF has a ‘Tech Theatre’ and has a much bigger focus on ‘new ways content can be treated’ (it’s also paired with the conference above). The programme is still TBC, but we like the look of the Tech Bar! The Book Fair covers a wide range of other areas for those not so into the tech side – check out the website for more details.
Tickets to attend the Book Fair and a range of seminars are £35 each, but there are a number of affiliated conferences as well.
7 – FT Digital Media 2016: Converge and Conquer
12-13 April
London
The Financial Times are the uncontested kings of digital publishing, managing to keep a whopping 500,000 subscribers happy. So this conference from the FT Digital Media team is worth a look, as it will ‘address the key challenges facing media companies by focusing on what the Financial Times does best: providing analysis of the economic and business models that will determine success in different markets around the world’.
A standard ticket will set you back £1499, but there are discounts for current FT subscribers. More details are on the FT Digital Media site.
8 – Digital Media Europe 2016
20-22 April
Palais Liechtenstein Gartenpalais, Vienna
#DME16 is described as ‘the only truly European conference focused on digital revenue’, so it was essential to include it on our list! The event focuses on three topics: Online Reader Revenue, The End of Display Advertising 1.0 and Tomorrow’s Revenue Today. Digital strategists should seriously consider this, as should anyone worrying about digital publishing revenue (well…who isn’t?).
Tickets range from €990 – €1790, and booking is through the DME website.
9 – FIPP London
10-11 May
Novotel London West, London
This new initiative from FIPP covers four streams: Worldwide Media Marketplace, Innovation, Mobile and Tech. The ‘something for everyone’ approach looks promising, although the programme and speaker details have yet to be confirmed. One to watch…
Tickets range from £650 – £1645, and can be booked through the FIPP website.
10 – PPA Festival
12 May
London
2015’s PPA Festival was a smashing success, so we can safely recommend bagging yourself a ticket to this year’s Festival to challenge, explore and celebrate UK magazine media. Catch up on our talk on Digital Megatrends from last year, and keep an eye out for more details of the line-up and topics are released for this year.
